Sydney Metro Northwest

GBR-Rail was awarded a contract by the Northwest Rapid Transit (NRT) consortium to design and manufacture a sophisticated, automatic water-recycling carriage wash system for the AU$ 8.3billion Sydney Metro Northwest project – Australia’s biggest public transport undertaking.

Sydney Metro Northwest is the first stage of Sydney Metro and the first fully-automated metro rail system in Australia, with services starting in the first half of 2019.

Trains will be washed in an automated train wash designed and built to Sydney Metro’s specifications. It will operate in the new state-of-the-art Sydney Metro Trains Facility at Rouse Hill in Sydney’s Northwest.
